Test of English for International Communication
This English language test is aimed at Human Resources departments of large companies who require a way of assessing the language ability of potential employees as well as academic institutions. TOEIC works on a scale rather than a pass or fail - similar to the IELTS grading system (The maximum score is 990) Unlike IELTS this is a test of general, everyday English language not academic English like IELTS. 2 skills are tested in each exam: TOEIC Listening and Reading and TOEIC Speaking and Writing test.This exam was developed in the USA in 1979 and it is popular in France, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam.
